Flame moves on from Shangri-La

The Torch Relay in Xamgyi'nyilha, otherwise known as Shangri-La, ended just before noon on Wednesday as the county party chief, Peng Yaowen, and middle distance runner Zhang Guowei lit the cauldron in Pudacuo National Park. [Full story]


Xamgyi'nyilha (Shangri-La) is just north of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It covers an area of 11,616 square meters and has a population of nearly 130,000, the majority of which are ethnic Tibetans. [Full story]
